In addition to launching the Realme 3 Pro, the company also announced the Realme C2 entry-level smartphone. The Realme C2 is part of the company’s budget Realme C-series and the successor to last year’s Realme C1. The Realme C2 isn’t a major upgrade as it shares most of the same features with the Realme C1. The biggest change comes to the chipset, which is now an Helio P22. It also reduces the wide notch to a dewdrop notch to offer a larger screen real estate.
The Realme C2 has been priced starting at Rs 5,999 for the base model with 2GB + 16GB configuration, while the 3GB + 32GB variant is priced at Rs 7,999. The Realme C2 will be offered in Diamond Blue and Diamond Black colours. The first sale will be on May 15 on Flipkart and Realme.com. The company is also offering Jio benefits of Rs 5,300. Realme says the Realme C2 will also be available via offline stores soon.
Realme C2 specifications
The Realme C2 sports a 6.1-inch HD+ dewdrop display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The plastic rear panel comes with a diamond cut design. It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 chipset based on a 12nm process. The phone is offered with 2GB or 3GB of RAM along with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, respectively.
The budget Realme phone offers a 13MP primary camera along with a 2MP secondary depth camera. On the front, the Realme C2 gets 5MP AI selfie camera. It houses a 4,000mAh battery. The dual VoLTE smartphone comes with a triple card slot to support two nano SIM cards and a microSD card slot.
The Realme C2 supports facial unlock rather than a fingerprint sensor. The phone ships with ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie. The phone also supports up to 480fps slow-motion video recording.
